Arcadia Academy
History:

The original structures were built in 1846 designed to be
used as a Methodist high school by Jerome C. Berryman.
During the years of 1861-1863 the school served as a
hospital for Union soldiers during the Civil War. In 1877
the Ursuline nuns bought the property for $30,000, and
again began using it as a school. After many good years
enrollment declined, and in 1970 the school was closed.
The nuns continued to live there until 1985 when they were
moved to St. Louis. Later the property was bought by
private owners, and converted into a bed and breakfast,
antique and crafts sales, and hosting weddings and large
events.

Reports:

Shadow people, church singing, orbs,
apparition of a man, sighting of nun
walking in cemetery. Others suggest
one ghost to be Sister Katherine, and
the other a man named Monroe Schutte
who was run over by a train and buried
there since he was rumored related to a
nun there.
Results:

Access was limited to the gym and the
bed and breakfast due to a past visit
from other “ghost hunters” who have
now left a bad taste in the owners mouth.
We found an unexplained EMF field in the
cemetery, and possible shooting orb in the
dinning room of the B&B.
